Improving products and processes to build new tools
Smriti Jaiswal is an engineer for the data and analytics cloud platform team at Discover®, serving in the infrastructure products services area. She appreciates that Discover is more than just a bank or a credit card company—it's a technology workspace where she uses her skills daily. She has built skills in several areas, such as cloud services, OpenShift, and DevOps, and with technologies like Ansible, Terraform, Airflow, and AWS.
Motivated by her passion and drive to do something better than what already exists, Smriti is happiest when she is able to improve products, to find better ways to use her team's time and efforts, and to build something new. The challenges that come with being a new mom have helped Smriti to be flexible, quick on her feet, and prepared for any kind of project that comes her way.
In a full-circle moment, Smriti joined Discover in 2019 after attending the renowned Grace Hopper Celebration, and was able to attend again in 2022 representing Discover. "The engineering culture here is all about cross-collaboration and the people and technology keep me motivated to grow here," notes Smriti.
