Angel Diaz, VP of Technology Capabilities and Innovation at Discover, has been named a winner in the esteemed 2024 HITEC 100 list honoring the most influential and distinguished Hispanic professionals in technology.
Every year, the Hispanic Technology Executive Council (HITEC) recognizes the achievements and contributions of the top US-based Hispanic technology executives with the goal of celebrating their impactful leadership and inspiring others looking to build careers in technology. Angel is one of 100 top executives from industry leading Fortune 100 companies across business sectors being recognized in banking and finance, tech solutions, consumer packaged goods, and more.
Since joining Discover in 2021, Angel has led the creation a digital transformation operating model that includes a new talent structure and open-source community driven approach to establishing and implementing Discover’s product model across all Discover Card, Bank and Payment teams.

Born and raised in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Angel has a long track record of supporting Hispanic-focused tech initiatives. In 2022, Angel delivered the keynote talk at the annual conference for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). He also recently appeared on the Cafecito con HACE podcast.
