Passionate about making engineers' lives easier through reuse
As a founding member of the Discover® open source team promoting software reuse and open ways of working, Anthony's current focus is making the lives of Discover engineers better by reducing cognitive load caused by environmental and process complexity. His goal is to empower engineers to focus on things that matter to Discover customers.
In 2022, Anthony had the privilege to deliver the session OpenWorx: Open Ways of Working @ Discover at Gene Kim's renowned annual DevOps Enterprise Summit in Las Vegas. Senior Engineering Manager Priya Krishnamoorthy and Anthony spoke to a packed house full of DevOps luminaries and industry peers, all learning about how Discover has embraced the concepts of Reuse, innersource, and open-source practices in such a short period of time. The hallway conversations were impactful to learn how other companies are approaching open models.
A highlight of the events was when Gene Kim stopped by afterwards to thank Anthony and Priya for sharing their story, recognizing the third consecutive year that Discover had speakers at the conference.
What makes Anthony great at his job is his passion for Discover. He notes: "I love working at Discover because of the people and culture. Full stop. If you don't have that, leave and go find it. Discover has both in spades. It sounds corny, but from our Cash Back Bonus to 100% US-based customer service and everything in between, this company walks its talk. We truly are committed to building brighter financial futures!"
